Computer Keeps Disconnecting from Internet -- Intel AC-8260

I have a computer that keeps disconnecting from the Internet as of this morning -- worked just fine prior. For the most part, it will show "connected - no Internet".

 

The computer has a dual-band Intel AC-8260. I thought that it might have been a Windows update, but after uninstalling the one that happened yesterday, the issue persisted.

 

I am able to see the following errors over and over in Event Viewer:

 

NDIS

Error Code: 10400

"Network interface AC-8260 has begun resetting. There will be a momentary disruption in network connectivity while hardware resets. Reason: The network driver requested that it be reset"

It goes on to say that it has been reset 200 times since last initialization.

 

Netwtw06

Error Code: 5007

"5007 - TX/CMD timeout (TfdQueue hanged)"

 

I have tried disabling the network adapter driver, uninstalling it, rollback it back to the version to 20.50.0.4, reinstalling it to the latest one at 20.80.0.0, . When I checked the version of the driver, it showed 20.70.1.1 for some reason.

 

I have done the following:

 

uninstall windows update

uninstall driver

reinstall drivers

rollback driver

tried turning off master browser service -- set back to auto

forgot networks

Tried different WiFi networks

sfc /scannow

turned off IPv6 completely

setup static DNS

Ran troubleshooter (can't connect to gateway)

release/renew/flushdns

Changed power management for driver (turned off the ability for the computer to turn it off when on low power)

Channel Width 2.4 GHz: 20 MHz

Channel Width 5 GHz: Auto

Roaming Aggressiveness: 1. Lowest

Cleared tmp files

Ran AV scan

Pinged loopback (successful)

ran netsh int ip reset and restarted

 

What is weird is that while I am unable to connect to the WiFi networks (which this computer was able to connect to yesterday without any issues -- no changes have happened to the network), the computer can connect to a mobile hotspot without any issues. When I ran a continuous ping on the connections where I could not access the Internet to the gateway, I got anything from "no resources" to "ping transmit failure" to "request timed out" to "destination host unreachable". Due to the issue, the pings are only sporadically successful when the network adapter is not being reset. At this moment, I am unsure on what to do further as far as troubleshooting goes. No other devices are having these issues and our network is working just fine.

Hi, thank you for response.

 

My thought was no adaptors just plain 19v battery plugged directly to NUC in lack of 230V. (Europe) power supply.

 

Any thoughts?

Grazie per la risposta. Ho contattato l'assistenza Asus, mi hanno consigliato di aggiornare il BIOS. Dopo tutta la procedura di aggiornamento, sono entrato nel BIOS ma non ho trovato alcuna opzione riguardante la scelta della GPU. Inoltre nella EZ Mode del BIOS risulta come unica GPU la NVidia GeForce 1060, ma della Intel HD 630 non vi è traccia, neanche nella advance mode. Proverò a ricontattare Asus per trovare una soluzione.

Hello Heine Koldbro Madsen,

Since it says it's not provisioned, does it allow you to continue and complete the provisioning process? Does it gives you any error message or does it completes but then it just doesn't work?

On the same folder where the ACUconfig tool is saved, every time you start the tool it will create a ACUconfig log. Could you please send us that log?

Make sure to attach the created report to this thread.

Hi LucasStar77,

If both drives are now using GPT, then you can try to enable the module.

Please follow this guide from your motherboard’s manufacturer: https://www.gigabyte.com/MicroSite/454/intel-optane-ready.html

It explains which settings you should configure at BIOS. If you have any issues, please take screenshots of the BIOS settings. 

You can take screenshots of the BIOS by pressing F12 or the Print Screen button. You will require a USB Flash memory connected because the images are saved there automatically. Please refer to this site for additional details about this: http://www.unboxingtreatment.com/2018/04/howto-take-screenshot-motherboard-bios.html

Additionally, please take another screenshot of the Peripherals section in your BIOS.

Thank you for waiting. I would like to share with you that I have set the Intel® NUC Kit NUC7i7BNH on to wake at 8:00 pm  (20 hours) Amsterdam time zone ( same time on BIOS and OS) and the Intel® NUC woke up at the correct time. 
 
Have to try to clear the CMOS on the unit? Steps to complete clear CMOS https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005805/mini-pcs.html, use the power button method.
 
Please attach to this thread the current Intel® System Support Utility for Windows*. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility
Steps to save the report:

  1. Run the utility.
  2. Click on “Scan” to get the scanned system.
  3. Once the scan is complete click on “next”.
  4. Use the “save” option, save the report to your desktop.
  5. To attach a file, you must click the “Attach” option on the bottom right-hand corner of the response box.
 
What other devices you have connected to the Intel® NUC?

Depth Camera Module D430 Custom Board Information

Is a schematic and bill-of-materials available for the depth camera module D430 board?

 

Our system requires a different imager base line spacing and different optics than the standard D430 assembly.

 

We would like to use the D430 circuit design and components on a custom board with a different form factor.

I am aware of that functionality in the RealSense Viewer, but I need do it in code, but it doesn't have to be in Python.

I am guessing there is some API for doing it since RealSense Viewer can do it, but I am not sure where to find that information.

Thank you for posting on the Intel ® communities.

I can see that you are experiencing slow speed and disconnections when using 5 GHz. 

First, I would like you to provide me with the full System Support Utility report, I can see that you only attached the network part, so please attach it again with the rest of the information. Now, I need more data, so please provide me an answer for the following questions:

1 - Is this problem only experienced with the laptop or have you tried other devices as well?
2 - Have you tried to connect to a different 5 GHz network? 
3 - You mentioned the speed is slow in 5 GHz, have you checked 2.4 GHz? 
4 - Was this problem experienced before or it just started happening?

Make sure to change any configuration when applicable according to the information in the article above.
